I am an associate professor (senior lecturer) in global environmental politics at the University of Melbourne. My work examines the political economy of environmental problems and their solutions, with a focus on biodiversity protection. I am the author of Conserving the Oceans: The Politics of Large Marine Protected Areas (Oxford University Press, 2021) and the co-editor of Understanding Environmental Norms (2026), A Research Agenda for Sustainable Ocean Governance (2025), and A Research Agenda for Global Environmental Politics (2018). My research has been published in various journals, with recent work featured in Global Environmental Politics, npj Ocean Sustainability, and Review of International Political Economy, among others. I hold a PhD in Political Science from the University of British Columbia.
